Adana: The Beauty of Kozan Castle
On a hill that rises higher than 400 meters above sea level, Kozan Castle has remarkable views of the terrain with attractive architecture that would make any photographer happy.
My trip to Adana was my first experience with photography, but it was almost impossible to mess up the astonishing scenery of Kozan Castle and its vicinity. From the warm sunlight to the endless fields, nature was at its finest on the day I went to this stunning place.
This castle is one of the rarest. Built by either the Assyrians or the Hittites, it has continuously stood since the 12th century. When arriving at the castle, I made my way up curvy and steep roads which definitely added to the experience. As soon as I made it to the top of the hill beautiful views were already visible. Beginning my hike to the top of the castle, the look-outs were constant, making great water breaks as I took in the scenery. It was a beautiful but hot day, and I was needing a lot of water breaks to make it to the top. The hike can be strenuous, but it is well worth it.
I arrived at the top of the castle and saw that I had two options: explore the left side of the castle or the right side of the castle. When walking through the right side, the views of the city are immaculate. It is also a great place to get an amazing view of the left side of the castle. When walking to the other side, still on the right side, there is the dungeon to explore. Of course I went inside! One, to cool down and two, because why not go into the dungeon? The left side was probably my favorite side however. This part of the castle had old rock stairs that also added a lot to the experience of walking around the castle. After making it up the stairs, I was hit by an incredible sight. Not only are the views of the scenery from the top of the castle breathtaking, but the architecture of the ancient windows was astonishing as well.
When traveling through Adana, make sure you check out Kozan Castle.
